📚 Understanding Compound Angles

Compound angles occur when both the miter and bevel must be cut simultaneously. This is common in crown molding and picture frames.

📐 Formulas

  • Miter: tan(M) = tan(A) × sin(B)
  • Bevel: sin(B) = sin(A) × cos(B)

💡 Tips

  • Crown molding typically has 38° or 45° spring angle
  • Cut test pieces on scrap first
  • For inside corners: cope one piece
  • Label your pieces as you cut
